Resident Evil 4 Remake was announced and had its release date set for March 24, 2023, during Sony's State of Play digital event this Thursday (2). The new version promises to recreate and update one of the most acclaimed chapters of the classic horror saga with renewed visuals and gameplay. The announcement also mentions that Resident Evil 4 Remake will have content produced for the PlayStation 5 ( PS5 ) PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality viewer. Capcom has confirmed that the game is coming to next-gen consoles, including PS5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC, via Steam.

In the trailer, you can see briefly the new versions of the protagonist Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 and Ashley, the daughter of the President of the United States. The entire story of the game revolves around Ashley, who was kidnapped and taken to an isolated village in Spain. Leon, who has become a counter-bioterrorism agent, will have to rescue her at the request of the President. The trailer also shows one of the most striking villains of the first part of the game, the giant Bitores Mendez, who controls the initial village of the game.
Resident Evil 4 was originally released in 2005 for the GameCube with a temporary exclusivity and later converted to various platforms, among them PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, and even current consoles like PlayStation 4 ( PS4 ), Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. In its time, the game was the first to leave the series standard with a greater focus on action than horror, as with Ganados enemies in place of zombies.
